Charles Rauscher is a descendant of Joseph Rauscher (born abt 1832, resided in Herkimer county and Vernon, Oneida county, NY). Joseph Rauscher is likely related in some manner to this Peter Rauscher, as well as to Anthony Rauscher who resided in Vernon, Oneida County, NY. I myself am not related to the Rauscher family, but have an interest in them as they attended the same church as my ancestors in West Leyden, Lewis County, NY.

1828 in Strasburg, Germany. Catherine is found in the 1880 census as a
widower with her 3 younger children in Talcottville, town of Leyden, Lewis
County, NY.

3. CATHERINE2 RAUSCHER (PETER1) was born December 31, 1829 in France. On 28
Oct 1851, she married GEORGE BIRK. He was born about 1822 in Germany. In
1870 they are living in the town of Leyden where he is a farmer. In 1880,
their sons Peter, Michael, and Charles are all found as laborers on different
farms in the town of Leyden, Lewis County, NY.

Abt. 1845 in New York State. John was a Blacksmith in 1870. He moved
about 1870 to St. Lawrence county, NY and was residing in Russell in the
1880 census.

ERLENBACH 1870 in Lewis County, New York. They resided in Talcottville, town
of Leyden, Lewis County, NY in 1880. Peter was born Abt. 1845 in
Prussia. They are both buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, Onondaga
County, New York

He was a butcher in the town of Leyden in the 1900 census. They are
both buried in Talcottville Cemetery, Leyden, Lewis County, NY.
