GLENFIELD -   Timothy J. Cole, 80, of the Otter Creek Road, Glenfield, died on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.

Tim was born on August 19, 1939, in Fowler, New York, to the late Paul and Ione Hitchman Cole.  After graduating from Edwards Central School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  Later, he was a meat cutter for the A & P and Grand Union Markets in the Syracuse and Lowville areas.  A mechanic for the Chevrolet Dealership in Gouverneur, he worked from his home garage as well.  Moreover, from 1980 to 1988, he worked as a construction mechanic on the Thousand Island’s Bridge and Rouse’s Point Bridge.  For many years, Tim, also, worked for the Town of Greig landfill and as sexton for the Brantingham, Sands, and Otter Creek Cemeteries.  When not working, he enjoyed doing wood crafts, cooking, watching movies, and taking trips with Phyllis.  He, also, looked forward to the holidays and spending time with his family.  He, especially, enjoyed going to Trout Lake on family get togethers.

Tim is survived by Phyllis Hanno of Brantingham, his companion of twenty-seven years, and her family; his siblings and their spouses:  Kenneth and Darlene Cole, of Harrisville, Paul and Denise Cole, of Asheville, North Carolina, and Mary and Roderick Benware, of South Carolina; and a brother-in-law, William Hawn, of Edwards; as well as by nieces, nephews, and the family of his former companion, Elaine Burnham.   He is predeceased by a sister, Margaret Hawn; and his former companion, Elaine Burnham.  Tim loved all the members of his family.

Calling hours are scheduled from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.  A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Otter Creek Cemetery with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating.  A gathering at the 3G Fire Department will immediately follow the graveside service.  Food donations may be taken directly to the 3G Fire Department any time after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, New York 13367.
