Lansing E. Davis
August 27, 1939 ~ April 25, 2014 (age 74)

LOWVILLE- Under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice, Lansing “Lance” Davis, 74, of Park Avenue, Lowville, died Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014, at his home.

Lance was born on August 27, 1939, in Glenfield, New York, to the late James and Korilla VanAlstine Davis.  He attended General Martin High School in Glenfield, later earning a High School Equivalency Diploma at South Lewis High School, Turin, in 1981.  On March 14, 1959, he married Linda Hellinger.  Before attending Mohawk Valley Community College where he earned certificates in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, he worked with Georgia Pacific for several years.  Next, until he retired, he owned and operated Lance’s Appliances.  In addition, he, honorably, served his country in the Army and Army Reserves.  On February 2, 1985, he married Joan E. Rasmussen in Beaver Falls, New York.  Otherwise, he enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, joking with friends and family, and creating nicknames for those he loved.

Lance is survived by Joanie, his wife of twenty-nine; six daughters, Laura Hill, and her companion, Stephen Chance, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Linda and Anthony Snyder, of Camden, New York, Lannie and Wayne Randall, also of Camden, New York, Dorris DiNardi, and her companion Ronald Perini, of Port Leyden, New York, Nancy McDonald, and her companion, Greg Baker of Taberg, New York, and Susie and Jamie Gassett; four step-children, Michael and Debbie Overton, of Watson, Wayne and Karen Overton, of Martinsburg; Patty and Donald Hanno, of Glenfield; and Amy and Mark Marti, of Lowville; three brothers, Robert Davis, of Glenfield, David Davis, of Boonville, and Clarence, and his wife, Jean Davis, also of Glenfield; two sisters, Inez Briggs, of Sandy Creek, and Gladys Howard, of Port Leyden;  twenty-one grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren whom he loved very much ; nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by his first wife, Linda Hellinger; his two-year-old son, Lansing Edward Davis, Jr.; two sisters, Alma and Laura Korilla Davis; and three brothers, Ray, Herbert, and Leonard Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Keith W. Hardy, Jr., officiating.  Calling hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O.
