LOWVILLE - Denise J. Dufault, 91, died on Monday, April 23, 2018, under the care of Highlands Living Center, Pittsford, New York.

Born on October 24, 1926, in Quebec City, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Eugenie and Edmond LaPorte, Denise lived and grew up in Montreal.  On May 11, 1946, she married Emmanuel J. Dufault, who predeceased her in June, 2008.  They moved to Toronto where she devoted her life to raising their five children.  During the 1960s, the couple moved to Rochester, New York, before making their home in Glenfield, New York.

Denise enjoyed knitting, bowling, golfing, skiing, dancing, and traveling.  Always giving to others, she volunteered for numerous charitable organizations including the Rochester Hospitals, the Lowville Food Pantry, and the Thrift Store.

She is survived by her daughters, Michele (John) McIsaac, of Toronto, and Lynn (Jonathan) Thisse, of Glenfield New York; her sons, Paul (Dorthy) Dufault, of Rochester, New York, and Marc (Laura) Dufault, of Haines City, Florida; her son-in-law, Peter van der Voort, of Kingston, Ontario; and her brother-in-law, Robert Hebert, of Montreal; as well as eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Denise is predeceased by her daughter, Carol van der Voort (August 2010); her daughter-in-law, Theresa Dufault (February, 2012); her brother Edmond LaPorte; her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Terry Newcomen; her sister, Lucille Hebert; and her brother- and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Clarise Dufault.

A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield, with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Martinsburg Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  Memorials may be made to Smile Train (an international children’s charity to repair cleft lips and palates), Mail to: Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231
