Audrey Kolasa
February 21, 1928 – December 3, 2012

Boonville- Audrey Mackey Kolasa, 84, wife of Edward, of West Street, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a lengthy illness.

A daughter of Andrew and Clara Hoffert Mackey, Audrey was born in Constableville, on February 21, 1928.  In September 1946, she graduated from Lyons Falls High School with the Class of 1946.  Then, she began working at the Gould Paper Company, Lyons Falls, as a messenger girl.  In time, she advanced to Production Control Clerk and retired after thirteen years to raise her family.  On August 29, 1953, she married Edward Kolasa, at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls.  Their loving union lasted for over fifty-nine years.  For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Kolasa Body Shop of Boonville.

Mrs. Kolasa attended St. Mary's Church, West Leyden.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and family.  Moreover, she greatly enjoyed and never missed attending a dance competition of her granddaughters or sports event of her grandsons.  She, also, enjoyed attending horse shows, shopping, gardening, raising flowers, and going for rides.  Keeping up with the times, she, especially, enjoyed using a computer and keeping in touch with family and friends by e-mail.

Besides her husband, Ed, Audrey is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Barry Pfendler and Jeanne and Bill Szucs, all of Boonville; her cherished grandchildren, Drew and Matt Pfendler and Brittany and Morgan Szucs, also all of Boonville; and a sister, Germaine Clute, of Glenfield, as well as by many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings: William (Stub), Bernie, Reginald, Richard, and Ronald Mackey; Betty Ossont; Winifred Podkowka, and Mary Lou Wakefield.

Audrey’s Funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, with Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor, celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will follow in the spring in the Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. Calling hours are Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Boonville Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O.
