Robert Donald Seelman
June 5, 1930 - June 2, 2017

Highmarket- Robert (Donald) Seelman, 86, a lifelong resident of the Sweeney Road, passed away on June 2, 2017, surrounded by his family at theSunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.

A son of Edward and Evelyn Nellenback Seelman, he was born in Highmarket on June 5, 1930.  He grew up on the family farm on the Sweeney Road and married Katherine McDonald on December 2, 1950, in the Town of Steuben.  Shortly after their wedding, they settled on the family farm, which they operated for many years.  Donnie, also, harvested logs from the farm.  In addition, years ago, he enjoyed hunting and spending time on the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine, a resident of thr Sunset Nursing Home; two daughters and a son-in-law, April and Stephen Allen, of Rome and Dawn Bush, of Port Leyden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Susan Seelman and Shawn Seelman and Joleen Sullivan, all of Highmarket; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Seelman, of Constableville; five grandchildren, Rebecca Marino, Michael, Melanie, and Jennifer Bush and Jimmy Seelman; and four great grandchildren, Ethan, Mallory, Brady, and Brody.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene Croniser, in 1971, and a son, Robert E. Seelman, in 2009.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Constableville, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek.  There are no calling hours. A luncheon will be served after the burial at St. Mary’s Church Hall.  Donations of food may be dropped off any time after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
