Gerald C. Williams, Sr.
May 20, 1938 ~ October 26, 2020 (age 82)

LOWVILLE- Under the loving care of his family, Gerald C. Williams, Sr., 82, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, formerly of Lowville, passed away Monday morning, October 26, 2020, at the home of his daughter, Karen Williams.

Gerald was born on May 20, 1938, in Lowville, New York, to the late Tell P. and Mary Pasternak Williams.   Besides schools in Boonville and Buffalo, he attended first rural school in Martinsburg and then Lowville Academy.  From 1956 to 1958, he served in the U.S. Army.  On July 1, 1961, he married Caroline V. Zubrzycki at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Houseville.  She died on August 24, 1979.  Then, in 1981, he married Ann Pelo.  She died in 1994.  He, later, married Maxine Fivecoat.

Gerald drove truck for many years before retiring in 2000.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, riding his four-wheeler, and refurbishing real estate.  He, also, liked making frequent trips to visit his family.  He, especially, loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as with his many friends and other family members.  In addition, he liked going up to the R & R hunting camp.  He, always, had a great sense of humor and could brighten anyone’s day.  He knew how to fill a room with laughter and always made everyone smile.  Moreover, he was, always, whistling no matter what he was doing.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; his three children by Caroline V. Zubrzycki:  Gerald “Jerry” C., Jr., and Renee Williams, of Copenhagen, and Karen M. Williams, of Lowville; and Joanne and Terry Souva, also of Lowville; three grandchildren:  Nakaylah Souva, McKenna Souva, and Dylan Williams; Maxine’s children, and Ann Pelo’s children; as well as by cousins.  He is predeceased by his two brothers, Claude Williams and Tell, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Lowville Rural Cemetery.  No calling hours are scheduled.  We ask that you please wear a mask.  Arrangements are with the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O.
