Survey taken in July 1965 by Mrs. Arno Dening and Miss Karen Dening.
Location: Town of Martinsburg.
Drive State Hwy 26 heading south from Town of Martinsburg for about one to two miles. Turn right onto Lee Road (this is a small dirt road). Continue on Lee Road towards West Road. Just before getting to West Road the Baptist Cemetery can be seen on the right and easily reached from the side of the road. It is a square grassy area framed by trees. There is no sign for this cemetery and it gets mowed only about twice a year.
This road is well known at Pitcher Road, because there were so many Pitcher residents (Pitcher Settlement). According to the surveyers, the Martinsburg United Baptist Society building (built 1825) once stood on the ground where the district school house now stands.
