Glenn Brian Redmond
November 26, 1966 ~ October 18, 2019

Port Leyden – Glenn Brian Redmond, 52, of Elm Street, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, October 18, 2019, while under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

Glenn was born on November 26, 1966, in Lowville to Glenn and Joanne White Redmond.  Following his graduation from South Lewis Senior High School in 1985, he went to work for Kiewit Construction Company of Lyonsdale.  For a time, he worked construction in Florida and Wisconsin as well.

In 1993, Glenn moved to Connecticut where he met Marie Foster.  They wed a short time later in Forest Park, New York.  They, then, settled in Noank, Connecticut, where he attended culinary school.  Employed in fine dining restaurants in Connecticut, he moved back to Port Leyden in 1998 following a separation from Marie.  Next, he worked as a chef for area restaurants including the Buffalo Head, the Hotel Parquet, the Mountain Dog, and the Roaring Brook.  For over ten years, Glenn, also, cut and sold firewood.  An avid hunter and fisherman, he, also, enjoyed making wooden signs and throwing darts.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joanne Fahey and Papa Tom Prior, his father and step-mother, Glenn and Cindy Redmond, all of Port Leyden; a sister, Renea (Danny) Wunderlin, of Connecticut; a brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Kim Redmond, of Port Leyden; a step-sister, Wendy Flansburg, of New Hampshire; his maternal grandmother, Helen White, of Boonville; his nieces, Ashley Palmer and Stephanie Redmond, his nephews: David Palmer, Dylan (Brook) Wunderlin, and Brady Redmond; his aunts, Sonja Skidmore and Carol (Bob) Sperry; and his uncles, Bill and Joe White. Glenn was especially fond of his great-nieces Aleighna, Layla, Adeline, and Quinn, whom he called his sunshine as well as of his great-nephew, Logan.  In addition, he is survived by his dogs, Lucy and Luke.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Bessie Redmond; his maternal grandfather, Joe White; his uncle, Jeff White, and his beloved dog, Troy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lyons Falls Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor Jeff Ford officiating.  In keeping with Glenn’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Interment will follow at a later date in the Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyons Falls Bible Fellowship Church, 3839 State Route 12, Lyons Falls, New York 13368, or to the Port Leyden Fire Department, P.O.
