William T. Ritter, Jr.
August 27, 1967 - February 17, 2017

Port Leyden – William T. Ritter, Jr., 49, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

A son of William T. and Marianne Rose Ritter, William was born on August 27, 1967.  Raised in Forestport, he graduated from Adirondack Central High School. Following his graduation, William was employed as an iron worker with Union Local #440, Utica.  In the early 1990s, William moved to his current residence in Port Leyden.  Here, he enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in his garage as well as snowmobiling and 4-wheeling.

William is survived by his mother, Marianne Paquin, Sherrill; his siblings, Steven (Allison) Ritter, of Montana, and Tasha and Ashley Ritter, both of Forestport; his nieces, Sadie Kaye and Rory Ritter; a nephew, Kai Ritter; and his step-mother, Anne Ritter, of Forestport, as well as by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father William T. Ritter, Sr., and his step father, John Paquin.

In keeping with William’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Graveside services will be held this spring in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Forestport.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box #682, Lowville, New York 13367.
