Harold A. Tiffany
June 28, 1930 ~ October 25, 2012 (age 82)

GLENFIELD - With his loving family at his side, Harold Albin Tiffany, of Old Glendale, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness.

Harold, affectionately known as H.A.T., was born on June 28, 1930, to the late Lloyd E. and Ruth Scrivens Tiffany in Glenfield where he grew up.  After graduating from General Martin High School with the class of 1948, he started working with his brother, Donald Tiffany, operating a small dairy farm in the hamlet of Old Glendale.  Next, he worked for Salmon & Widmeyer in their shop in Glenfield.  Later, he accepted a position at the Gould Paper Mill in Lyons Falls and then at Boise Cascade in Lowville which he held until he retired.

On June 27, 1953, Harold married Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gaylord, with whom he fathered and raised four children.  Throughout, he had a devoted and great love for his three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  Needless to say, he cherished the time that he was able to spend with each one of them.  In addition, Harold had a great passion for vintage vehicles.  Indeed, he owned several, including a 1930 model T Ford truck that he, frequently, drove along Lewis County highways.

A member of the Brantingham Sno-mads snowmobile club, the Black River Valley 4-Wheeling Club, and the Mohegan Model-T Club, Harold, greatly, enjoyed participating in outdoor activities:  4-wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, traveling, and working in his garage on anything that would challenge him to fix or build.  Moreover, he enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events.

He is survived by Betty, his wife of over fifty-nine years; four children and their spouses:  Paula J. and Wayne Kendall and Carol A. and Patrick Millard, all of Glenfield, Jane E. and Mindon Luther, of Lyons Falls, and Douglas E. and Mary E. Tiffany, also of Glenfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sarah Tiffany, of Lowville; and a brother-in-law, Robert Andrews, of Voorheesville; as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Tiffany; a brother, Donald Tiffany; and a sister, Dorothy Andrews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired Methodist Minister, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Old Glendale Cemetery.  Calling hours are scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Hospital Foundation, Dialysis Fund, 7785 North State Street, Lowville, New York 13367.
