LOWVILLE-Sarah (McCue) Tiffany, resident of Brookside, formerly of Glenfield, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2014, in the care of her loving family and Lewis County Hospice.

In 1943, she graduated from Lowville Academy and began working for the Agricultural Conservation Office, a position she held until she married Donald E. Tiffany on September 27, 1945, at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Walter Bennett officiating.  After their wedding, they lived in Romulus, Michigan, where Donald was serving as a pilot with the United States Air Force.  Upon his discharge, they settled in Glenfield.  In 1964, Sarah started an enjoyable twenty-five-year career working for the United States Postal Service in Glenfield, first as a Clerk and then as Postmaster before she retired in 1989.  In addition, she and Donald enjoyed many happy retirement years at their cottage on Chase Lake.

Sarah is survived by her children and their spouses:  Linda (David) Seymour, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Margaret (John) Jaconski, of Manlius, New York, Barbara (Scott) Kellogg, of Hadley, Massachusetts, and Richard (Carol) Tiffany, of Croghan, New York; a son-in-law, Michael LaFave, of Voorheesville, New York; and her grandchildren:  Jennifer (Warren), Hicks, Chad (Cindy) Jaconski, Ann Jaconski, Cathryn (Patrick) Kenny, Tiffany Kellogg, Brett (Mary) LaFave, Anna (William) Mitchell, and Sarah LaFave, as well as by five great grandsons:  Henry, Bishop, and Chappy Hicks; and Chase and Colton Jaconski; her sister, Anna Gordon, of Lowville, New York; and a brother, Paul (Pauline), of Graham, North Carolina; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy McCue, of Lowville, New York, and Betty Tiffany, of Glenfield, New York; and her brother-in-law, Robert Andrews, of Voorheesville, New York, as well as by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Tiffany; her son, Ronald Tiffany; and her daughter, Lori LaFave; as well as by her siblings:  Mary (James) Kelly, Robert (Marie) McCue, Doris (Arthur) Stanton, John McCue, and Shirley (Chester) Adydan; her brothers-in-law, Harold Tiffany and Raymond Gordon, and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Tiffany.

Very proud of her family, Sarah loved spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking and making quilts and baskets which her family treasure.  A member of the Glenfield United Methodist Church, and an active member of the church women's group, Sarah served for many years as Treasurer of the Glendale Cemetery Association.
