CASTORLAND – William J. Walseman, 31, of the Resha Road, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

William, a son of Larry J. and Kathy D. Dicob Walseman, was born on February 4, 1986, in Carthage, New York.  After graduating from Carthage Central School, he attended Jefferson Community College.  At first, he worked in construction with his brother, Larry Walseman II, and for other local construction companies.  Then, he began working in windmill construction, a job which he loved.  A communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Carthage, William enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Most of all, however, he loved his kids.

He is survived by his companion, Heather Miller, and their children, Chase and Onalee; his parents, Larry and Kathy Walseman; his siblings:  Larry Walseman II, and his wife, Carrie, of Castorland, John Walseman, of Portland, Oregon, Katherine, and her husband, Jonathan Thompson, of Oxford, North Carolina, and Benjamin Walseman, of Carthage; his maternal grandmother, Gertrude Dicob, of Castorland; and his paternal grandmother, Ramona Walseman, of Croghan; as well as by many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Francis Dicob; his paternal grandfather, Beryl Walseman, Sr.; his uncles, James Walseman and William Dicob; and his aunt, Merry Dicob.

A funeral Mass will be offered at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church, Carthage, with Rev. Donald Robinson, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan.  Calling hours are from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Augustinian Academy, 317 West Street, Carthage, New York 13619.
